SUPERF👀D! Soo Nature Spirulina Repair Eye Cream Review

Hey Guys!

Have you ever had spirulina juice? I used to drink it and take tablets when I was living in New Zealand. Spirulina is a fresh water blue-green algae. It is considered a superfood because it’s a very nutrient dense food. It has a lot of protein, vitamin B1, iron, calcium, and other vitamins and minerals. It is also a powerful antioxidant. Now why did I tell you all this? Well, I needed an intro, but the eye cream that I am reviewing from Soo Nature that was sent to me from the K-Beauty Expo contains this very interesting ingredient. Soo Nature is a Korean brand that emphasizes its use of safe and natural ingredients. They try to avoid any preservative and chemical ingredients

Packaging & Formulation

The eye cream comes in a jar and in the box there were two little plastic spatulas. A jar contains 30 ml/1.0 fl.oz and it costs 36,000KRW. It’s not a bad price for an eye cream! The ingredients in the eye cream was surprisingly very clean. No PEG/PPG, mineral oil, parabens, etc. It does have fragrance though. It smells like flowery lime to me. It has 6000mg of spirulina extract and 1000ppm spirulina powder. It also has moisturizing, anti-wrinkle, and brightening ingredients like shea butter, squalene, niacinamide, jojoba seed oil, sweet almond oil, honey, adenosine, allatonin, beta glucan, galactomyces, and trehalose. Extracts include panax ginseng, Korean red ginseng, brown algae, and mugwort. Just reading the ingredients list I was so happy!

Texture & Application

The eye cream has a soft pillowy sherbet texture. When trying to get the product out with your finger, you wont get a lot of pick up, so I think using the spatula is best to get the desired amount. It goes on nicely and after I swipe under the eye I do light tapping motion with my ring finger to get to absorb. It has no greasy feeling and my under eyes feels moisturized and hydrated. I didn’t see much of a wrinkle filling effect as it claims to do. I would say it has a blurring effect because of the pillowy texture. However, I do like it a lot because it doesn’t migrate like creamier eye creams.

I think this is a great eye cream for those who have sensitive skin types. I don’t think this is enough for mature skin. 20-30s is a good age range that would suit this eye cream in my opinion. You can visit the Soo Nature website at www.soo-nature.com.

Again this was sent to me for review purposes from the K-Beauty Expo. I have free reign over my opinions and what I have written here is all me. Thanks for reading!

Slow Down Your Wrinkles! 🐌✨ Double & Zero Double Care Solution Mask – Gold Snail Review + BB Cosmetic Discount Code

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog if this is your first time, and welcome back if you’re a regular! This is going to be my first snail product review! Long, long time ago I used to a snail cream and it didn’t work out for me, so I never bought a snail product after that. However, since it’s a new year I thought I’d try it again. I’ve tried one other Double and Zero mask, The First Prestige Cream Mask Royal Propolis which I am absolutely in LOVE with! When I got that package from BB Cosmetic I was really excited to see if the double solution line was a good as the first prestige cream one.

The double care solution mask box comes with 10 masks and an ‘Introller’, a roller ball face massager. There are 7 different kinds of masks to choose from which are Alaska ice water, hyaluronic acid, black pearl, collagen, goat’s milk, gold snail, and bamboo. The gold snail one catered for wrinkle care. Each mask contains 10,000ppm of premium snail juice (just kidding, but not really) but not very much of gold, only 0.1ppm. Other ingredients include panthenol, shea butter, argan tree kernel oil, squalene, ginseng, propolis (yay!), and ceramide. It also has a patented ASD Complex+acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argiriline) which is a synthetic anti-wrinkle cosmetics ingredient. Combined together you get the ‘Actress Formula’ that’ll plump up your skin like a k-drama actress!DSCF0846

The sheet itself is made of cellulose so the sheet was saturated with the ampoule. It’s a woven type mask and it’s on the thicker side. I fit well on my face and didn’t fall off or moved around. The roller ball was a nice accessory to go over the places that dried out more quickly and also helps with the absorption.  There’s 30g of product in each mask so there was a lot left over in the pouch, which I patted more onto my face and neck afterward. The smell is pleasant and not over-powering. My skin looked a little brighter and plumped up after taking the mask off. Also, it was very moisturizing. However, it did feel a little sticky.

I really liked using this mask just as much as the first prestige ones. One time use isn’t going to be enough to see results, but continuous use will probably help your skin get rehydrated and look more youthful. You can purchase this at BB Cosmetic for under $15.00 and if you use my code ‘sarahomgb‘ you will get to save a little more extra money! Just to let you know, I don’t profit from you guys using the code so use it freely as you like. They have tons of great stuff and reasonable shipping prices so check out their online store! jb

Thanks for reading! I hope you’ll come back for more beauty posts like this one~xxoo

Neogen White Truffle Serum In Oil Drop

Hey guys! I’m here to review the Neogen White Truffle Serum In Oil Drop that was sent to me by Neogen. I have loved all the Neogen products I’ve used in the past, so I was really excited to try this one out! The white truffle line came out only a month ago and seems to be a hit here in Korea. They also have two other white truffle products that I might review later on.

The serum comes in a colorful yellow and blue box that really pops out at you when you’re looking around at the store. The serum is in a glass bottle with a pump and cap. You can see the oil drops in the bottle which is so cool to look at! Each bottle holds 50ml and I use two pumps per application. I think you can get away with even one pump.

This serum claims to strengthen damaged skin, nourish, create a moist barrier, and brighten the skin. The little drops that you see in the bottle is created by micro fluidic dispersion technology. This new technology balances the oil and serum so that you get a fresh finish and not a sticky or oily feeling on the skin. The white truffle extract is mixed in with a skin barrier component that is similar to our own skin which helps restore damaged skin. This skin barrier is made up of fatty acids, ceramide, and cholesterol that mimics your own skin.

The white truffle extract is the nourishing ingredient. Nicknamed the ‘black diamonds’ in the culinary world, it’s amazing to see this as an ingredient in a skincare product. I thought black truffles were better for some reason but it turns out that white truffles have more vitamins, amino acid, and minerals. The serum also has other oils that helps with moisturizing the skin like macadamia seed oil, avocado oil, and baobab tree seed oil. The added hyaluronic acid keeps your skin hydrated for longer. The serum also as niacinamide to brighten and improve skin texture.

What I love about this serum is the texture and feel of it during and after. At first it feels like a water essence and soon after you get the oil texture and when you’re done massaging it in to the skin you’re left with soft glowing skin. To test it, I only applied toner and this before I went to bed and the next day my skin didn’t feel dried out, but felt soft and still had a hint glow. I’ve been using it night and day for several days now and the dry spot on my forehead is so much softer and 90% less flaky. I’ll have to try it more to see any brightening effects though.

It costs 22,400 KRW and you can get it at the Neogen website or at any Olive Young store. Thanks for reading and follow me on social to keep yourself updated, @ohmyglossblog everywhere!

The ‘Bride Pack’ 👰🏻 – Double & Zero The Prestige Cream Mask- Royal Propolis 👑🐝

Happy Wednesday y’all! I’m going to be reviewing a sheet mask in this post. I got a ten pack box from BB Cosmetic and I have been using the Double & Zero Royal Propolis pack since last Thursday. This mask is self proclaimed the ‘wedding mask’ or the ‘bride pack’. I’m not getting any time soon but I do like the idea of prepping my skin for a big day such as a wedding. Also, it says on the packaging that one mask is equal to the effects of one jar of soothing gel cream. Thus far from what it claims it better be amazing right? Keep reading for what I think about it!

DSCF0281.JPG

There are 4 different Prestige Cream masks you can choose from, Royal Propolis (soothing), Bird’s Nest (hydrating), White Truffle (nourishing), and Black Caviar (tightening). The main ingredient in the Royal Propolis is propolis (10,000PPM), royal jelly, aloe vera, bisabolol, and Baikal Skullcap extract. If I did my math 10,000ppm can be converted into 1% and one percent of 30g is 300 miligrams, so this much of propolis is in one pack. If I did this wrong I’m sorry hahaha. Anyway, propolis is a natural antiseptic and helps rebuild damaged skin cells, which is great for acne prone skin. Royal jelly, similar to propolis, has antibacterial properties and reduces wrinkles. Aloe is a skin soothing and hydrating ingredient. Bisabolol is a colorless and viscous oil that helps healing of the skin and is anti irritant. Last is Baikal Skullcap extract helps with acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

DSCF0283.JPGThe mask sheet is a microfiber sheet and adheres to the skin really well. The mask is on the smaller side, but not by a lot. The sheet holds a lot of essence and doesn’t dry out quickly. It also is on the thicker side so it has a nice density on the skin and feels like the sheet is soaked up with propolis soup :P. Another thing I like about this pack is the amount of essence that is in the package. after I took out the mask I poured out what was left over and it filled my whole palm and there was still a bit more in the package. So I put more essence on my mask and with the rest I used on my neck, décolletage, shoulders, and arms. SO MUCH ESSENCE. The essence isn’t sticky either so I was fine using it all over my body. The essence has a faint honey-floral smell which I like a lot.

DSCF0286.JPG

After one time my skin felt amazing… it was so soft and the dry eczema patch on the right side of my forehead seemed to calm down and 100% less flakey and dry. The next morning day my skin still felt soft and hydrated and my  makeup went on so nicely. I think I know why it’s called the ‘bride sheet mask’, it seriously preps your skin for the big day even if it’s the next day. I think the Royal Propolis mask is a great choice for brides who are stressed about their big day and need some intensive skin soothing relief. Even if you’re not getting married this is a really nice mask to try out especially if you have an event to go to the next day. I give this two thumbs up!

Why I wear sunscreen everyday…

Getting my tan on in sunny Thailand.

It’s typical in Korea during summer or on any sunny day to see a lot of women wear wide brim hats, parasol, big sunglasses, T-shirts over bikinis, face masks, gloves, and arm coverings because we are vampires… haha jokes but women here take UV rays seriously. An Asian beauty ‘secret’ that my mom would tell me was to avoid the sun and always wear sunscreen and I finally listened.

When I was younger, in my golden days of youth, when sunspots and wrinkles were never a care, I never wore sunscreen and never considered it important to put in on. Now I can see the results of my waywardness of not protecting my skin from the sun. My sunspots aren’t hugely noticeable to others but I can see it. I can cover it with my makeup but I know it’s there. Makes me a little sad…ah-wahh.

Sun spots on your skin can get worse if you don’t treat them and you’ll get even more if you don’t protect your face or anywhere on your skin from harmful UV rays. Sure you can fade them but preventing them from appearing is the most important! Sunscreen is cheaper than spot fading treatments and serums, so might as well take care of  what you have already so you don’t have to spend so much later. Whether I’m going to be outside for ten minutes or the whole day, I put on sunscreen every time.

So some of you already know this but for those that don’t this is what you need to know. There are two kinds of rays, UVA and UVB. To be simple, UVB rays will give you sunburns while UVA rays will go deep within the skin and destroy your face. It’s harsh but it’s always good to know these things. Why am I telling you this? You need to find sunscreens that will protect you from both these kinds of rays; UVA the most . UVA protection is labeled as e.g. PA +++.  The more +’s the more protection. Sunscreens that says ‘broad spectrum’ tells you that it will protect you from both kinds rays. Oh, also UVA rays can go through glass and clouds so there’s no running away from it.

The science in developing sunscreens have vastly improved for makeup junkies like you and me. There is a plethora of SPF infused makeup products. From lipstick to primers and foundation you have a whole selection of sun protectant products. They’re not like white clown makeup anymore! And it’s less tacky feeling and absorbs into your skin easily.

My BB creams and CC creams are SPF 35, my tinted sunscreen is SPF 50+, my primers are SPF 40, and foundations range from SPF 25 to 50. If the foundation I’m going to apply doesn’t have SPF then I prime my face with my tinted sunscreen or one of my face primers. It’s really convenient to have a SPF in your foundation so if you’re in a rush you don’t have to apply two things.

If you’re like me and love being out in the sun just make sure you’re taking care of your skin! Slap some SPF on and enjoy the day. Hope your day is sunny and awesome~
