Busy and Budget-Styling Eye Palettes from Aritaum

Hey guys! This is a late  post, I didn’t forget that it was blog day yesterday I just did not have anytime to write, let alone have some time to myself. I just want to apologize for not being so consistent these months. That’s enough chit chat, let’s get to the eye palettes! These eye palettes came out a month or two ago and bought one initially and then I went back and bought two other colors because I love the one that I got and I wanted to see if the other ones were going to give me the same reaction like the first one did.

The palette costs 10,000KRW each and in it there are five shades. So not including the price of the packaging and case, you can say that each shadow costs 2,000KRW which is pretty cheap considering road shop eye shadows cost around 3,000KRW and up. The case is small, a little longer than a business card I’d say and all of them have a holographic cut pattern on it which I think is pretty. Inside you have the five shadows, a double ended sponge tip applicator, and a built in mirror.

There are 4 colors available, 1 beige beige, 2 fatal burgundy, 3 coral brown, and 4 grey brown. Each has a color theme and it’s a gradation of the color theme. I would say that all of the palettes are on the warm side, even the grey brown palette is warm neutral and not a completely cool tone palette. The palettes come with a highlight color, base shade, two medium shades, and a definer color. So in one palette you can get a complete eye look or play with a couple shadows. For those who are a no fuss makeup person then this is a simple palette to use.

So which ones did I get? I got the grey brown palette initially and then bought fatal burgundy and beige beige the following day. I wasn’t able to purchase the coral  brown one because the store didn’t have it in stock. I will review each palette on it’s own because I think it would be unfair to lump it all the same because each are quite different from each other. Also I think it would be easier for you guys to follow along.

1 Beige Beige– The color ranges from a golden beige to  bronze shades. There are no matte shades in this palette. The pigmentation is decent not amazing, but still it gives enough color payoff without having to dig into the palette. The shadows are smooth almost creamy and not powdery. I would suggest applying eye primer beforehand because it does fade quite quickly without it.

  • Radiance– highilght soft sheer beige shimmer with gold reflects
  • Morning Beige– base color, light peach beige shimmer with gold reflects
  • By Day– very  similar to the Morning Beige, a little bit more of a shiny finish and gold glitter chunks.
  • Enforce– golden bronze shimmer
  • Mood– deep bronze with gold glitter

2 Fatal Burgundy– The color ranges from light pinks to dark wine and brown colors.Same as the Beige Beige palette there are no matte shades. The texture is the same except the highlight shade is a little bit powdery than the Beige Beige palette. I feel like this palette the shades in general has more fall out than the Beige Beige palette.

  • Peony- light shimmery pink with white sheen
  • Epic- a pinky peach shimmer
  • Mission-burgundy shimmer with micro gold reflects
  • Bonhuer-brownish purple shimmer with gold reflects
  • Cameo-chocolate brown shimmer with a slight pink undertone

3 Grey Brown- the color rages from a light peach beige to deep brown. This is the cool tone, it more of a neutral grey brown than a completely cool grey palette. This is the only palette of the four available that has matte shades. There is only one shimmy shade in this palette. I also think that the matte shades have better staying power than 1 and 2. However the matte shades are very powdery and the pigmentation is a little weak in my opinion.

  • Airlike- matte peach beige
  • Mild Sun- matte light taupe
  • Desert Sun-matte soft brown with grey undertone
  • Rainy-brown shimmer pearl with gold and deep pink glitter
  • The Big Night-matte deep taupe brown

I think the palette are pretty good value considering the case, and the amount of product, and color selection. It’s really easy to pick a palette and not have to think about what colors to use together. It’s small enough to carry around in your bag or purse and if you wanted you could smoke it up for a day to night transition.

Are you in to the pig palettes or these mini ones?

Drug Store Brand Essence Haul and Review

Today I’m writing about some stuff I picked up from from Watsons drug store here in Korea. I was looking around and I stop to see what the Essence brand had on their shelf and I’m a sucker for budget cosmetics, actually I’m a sucker for all kinds of cosmetics. Hahaha. Anyway! I picked up 2 gel eye pencils in 06 cocoa bean, 05 gunmetal, and 03 Urban Jungle, a 2 in 1 Eyeliner pen, 2 big bright eyes crayons in 01 nude and 02 pearly, and lastly an eye shadow palette in 02 nudes.

The total cost came out to be around 25,000KRW because there was a discount and I got an extra 10% off because of a end of year promotion. So I was a happy girl. But even without the discounts it come out to 27,500KRW. So as you can see this brand is very affordable. You might be thinking that if cosmetics are that cheap then the quality is going to go down and it’s true to some degree, but not always. Let’s get in to the review.

The gel pencils are waterproof and has a nice creamy texture. They have 6 colors to choose from and are well pigmented.I think the gel liners are pretty good! It doesn’t smudge, dry fast, waterproof, and glides easily on the lids. Also, the packaging is convenient that you don’t have to sharpen it, it has a twisty up thing at the bottom. These gel lines were actually winners of the Allure Best of Beauty Awards in 2014. So for 4,500KRW each it’s a good buy.

Next is the 2 in 1 eyeliner pen. I gotta say that is it probably my least favorite out of the things that I bought. The eyeliner liquid didn’t come out very evenly and I feel that the fine tip was not good or thin enough. The color was also not black enough for me. It was just meh. I think the idea was good, but it lacks in quality. This one was 5,500KRW.

The Big Bright Eyes crayons were a good buy as well. The nude one is more creamier that the pearly one. both are easy to blend and to apply. I just swipe it around the inner corners, on the brow bone, the bottom water line and with the nude one you can use it as a light concealer to brighten up the eye area.

Last is the Nudes eye shadow palette. There was a bronze version, but I liked the matte colors in the nude one so I got that. The colors pigments are okay not amazing but its quite soft. Which I think is appropriate since it is a nude color palette. The powder formula is very silky and blends well. I like it well enough, and it costing only 6,000KRW it makes me like it a lot more.

Be sure to check this line if you’re ever near a Watsons. I hope you like this post and be sure to check me out on Instagram @ohmyglossblog and my Facebook page for daily updates and pictures! Thanks for reading!
