With the recent release of the live-action Disney’s Cinderella, MAC has released the beautiful and awesome and sparkling Cinderella Collection! I had been waiting for it to come out for such a long time and it finally did on March 7th in Korea. I decided to get the Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette, Cinderella Studio Eye Gloss in Lightly Tauped, and the Cinderella Tinted Lipglass in Happily Ever After. Seriously they are so pretty, it makes me want to cry a little. Anyway, let’s begin the reviews!
Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette–
Packaged in a pearly blue-lavender case, this palette has 6 different shadows with textures ranging from matte, velvet, and frost. It is a mix of warm browns and soft champagne-pearl and an elegant shimmering black-plum shadows. It looks like your usual natural brown palette but once you swatch them it has a very pretty purple-blue appearance to it. Vapour is an awesome shade of pale peach with violet pearl. Phloof! is a frosty off white. Omega is a matte beige taupe. Quarry is a soft plum brown matte. Satin Taupe is as it says, a taupe with a sliver shimmer. Last but not least, Stroke of Midnight is a shimmery black-plum. At a glance the colors seem very light and natural but when you add Stroke of Midnight in the mix you get sexy and glamorous Cinderella. It’s been my go to palette for the last past couple weeks. The colors blend really well so you get a natural transition between the colors. It’s an excellent palette to take around with you. You can easily go from a natural day look at the Chateau de Cinderella to a romantic night out at the Royal Ball.
Cinderella Studio Eye Gloss–
I have, for the longest time, wanted to try the MAC eye glosses and this collection has given me a chance to do it! Lightly Tauped is a translucent taupe with beautiful opal pearl. It is a very interesting product and I know many people out there are not too fond of it because it is quite sticky. But the trick to it is that you have to warm it up on the back of your hand or on your fingertips and it glides on nicely. I think the reason it is so sticky is so that it will stay on your lids after application. The feel of it on your lids can feel like a thin layer of glue sticking to your lids every time you blink but to avoid this you can apply it above your crease so your bottom lids aren’t constantly sticking to your top lids. Overall, I think the eye gloss is really beautiful. It looks dewy and fresh and the pearl is so gorgeous. It looks like your eyes are wet with sparkly tears just before your fairy godmother came to save the night.
Cinderella Tinted Lipglass–
There are two Lipglasses in this collection Glass Slipper and Happily Ever After. Like all MAC Lipglasses it is very glossy. Happily Ever After is a translucent milky pink with luminous blue pearl. I was a little hesitant that it would look too cool on warm skin tone but it looks so pretty. It’s sparkly and bright, and it left me feeling quite enchanted.
Cinderella is my favourite Disney princess and this MAC collection does not disappoint! Such a fun and modern yet a classic collection for a classic princess.
