EUNOGO – Chaum Clinic Head Spa Experience

Hey everyone!

In this post, I will be sharing my head spa treatment I got done at Chaum Clinic a couple weekends ago. I was contacted by Eunogo, a medical tourism concierge, to review a popular head spa treatment at the prestigious Chaum Clinic. I was super excited because I’ve never had a head spa before. Just to explain more about Eunogo, they help visitors in Korea to get the best medical and beauty treatments at the best clinics. They have a great selection of services on their website and they also send a translator to your appointment so you will know exactly what’s going on. I’ve had such very many great experiences with them and I would highly recommend them to you.

About Chaum

Now Chaum is a fairly new hospital opened in 2010. Chaum offers various health services for both domestic and overseas visitors. It is one of fanciest hospitals I’ve been to and I was able to take a tour at an Eunogo event some months back. Chaum practices many other specialized medical services like a detoxification program, customized nutrition, vitamin injections, food therapy, immune therapy and other customized programs for visitor’s needs upon consultation.

On a rainy Saturday morning, I headed to the hospital and went to the designated Hair Spa area. The room is a bit small, like a small hair salon. I was promptly greeted and told to check a list of symptoms that I have (not scalp related) and then the nurse (?) took a picture of my scalp and the doctor came in to say hello and asked if I had any specific worries about my scalp. The condition of my scalp didn’t look that bad but she did mention that the pores looked a bit clogged and slightly inflamed, but overall no big issues.

I was led to a small curtained room to change and the scalp scaling treatment was a go-go! The chair reclines so that you are comfortably lying down. She first spritzed my scalp with hydrogen water and then proceeded to put my hair in a steamer to clean the hair and scalp. I had the cap on for 15 mins and afterwards, she applied a pre scalp cleansing tonic to the scalp with metal rod wrapped with some cotton. She worked in sections, front, right, left, and back. The liquid was very mentholated so it was super cooling and it helps to boost circulation as well as to cool the temperature of the scalp. FYI a hot scalp leads to hair loss! Hair got ion-steamed some more then she came back to do the same procedure but with a different liquid that helps to lift dead skin cells and scale the scalp.

Then it was time to do the bubble hair pack which helps to clean out the follicles. She applied the foamy lather on my head and gave me a nice head massage. Then we went over to the shampoo station and then she explained to me that every time I shampoo I should always rub the shampoo in my hands then proceed to apply it to the scalp and massage with my fingertips. The rest of our hair will get washed in the process, so it is very important to put more effort in cleansing the scalp. She didn’t apply any conditioner but later she applied a really nice smelling hair serum.

After treatment

She dried my scalp with a hair dryer and then we took photos again. This time around to my surprise it looked worse! However, this showed me that all the dead skin that had been stuck was starting to lift off because of the scaling. I realized that my scalp is just like my face and the rest of my body. I had been neglecting it so I was determined from that day to take care of my poor scalp! I dried the rest of my hair and my head spa came to an end.

My thoughts

My scalp felt refreshed and even after not shampooing for 2 days afterwards my scalp didn’t feel greasy and smelly like it would if I hadn’t gotten the treatment.

The treatment was about an hour and it costs $300.00USD with a special $30.00 Eunogo discount. It costs a  pretty penny, but because of the scalp analysis, I think it is a great way to find out the causes of your hair and scalp problems. If you have any concerns about your scalp and hair make sure to tell the doctor! In conlusion, I would like to say it’s not much of a relaxing head spa, but more of a scalp treatment. I would definitely recommend this treatment for those who have serious concerns about scalp and hair loss. From this, you can start to care for your scalp from a medical perspective. You can go directly to this link to read more about it. If you have the Kakao Talk app you can directly ask questions to them at their ID ‘eunogo’ and Whatsapp +65 8522 4529.

The Best Way to Get #Sheetfaced – Updated products

Hey guys

I wrote this blog post as a guest post over at another blog over a year ago and I never posted it on mine. It was left as a draft and I decided to look over it again, and I realized that some of my opinions have changed about some of the products I’ve recommended in the past. Not saying they are bad products, but since I have tried a lot more skincare over the last year or so I think I have become a sort of skincare snob, hahaha! Also, I want to let you know the products that I enjoy using now. Well anyway, read on for my sheet masking tips!

Korean Luxury Facial – My Shangpree Spa Experience!

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share my experience at the Shangpree Spa. Shangpree reached out to me and invited me to try their spa facial service. I’ve had many of my blogger friends tell me about their experience, and I couldn’t wait to try it out for myself. Not to jump ahead, but I loved it! Let me tell you all about it.

Location and Interior

There are 5 spa locations, in Chungdam, Gangnam, Myeongdong, Suwon, and Daejeon. I decided to the Chungdam one since it is in a ritzy location and they also recommended it since the interior was said to be the nicer out of the others ones in Seoul. Also, this is a women’s only spa, I don’t think men are allowed, from what I’ve read on their website. The spa is fairly easy to find, I got off at Apugujeong Rodeo station exit 5 and it’s about a 5 min walk. As I got to the entrance of the spa it looked quite small from the outside. When you go in at the top of the stairs there will be a nail shop and on the left side is the entrance to the spa. The interior was very pretty, and on the cozier side as I suspected from the outside. The wooden interior made the whole place look very warm and golden. There is also a giant vase fountain in the middle that give it a ‘spa’ atmosphere.

Spa Room

After the front desk greeted me, I was led upstairs to a private room. There are rooms for multiple people as well, but luckily I got a room to myself. The room is very cozy, leaning towards small, and has a very warm and golden theme like the lobby. There is a small closet to put your clothes and things in. Next to the closet there is a small vanity with a sink with all the Shangpree goodies displayed. The bed was long enough for me and wasn’t uncomfortable. There is also a clock on the wall if you like checking times and stuff.

I got the S-Power Treatment, which is 90-120 minutes and it is one of their signature treatments. It helps with different skins of skin concerns like whitening, anti-wrinkle, and acne/blemishes. I purposely didn’t wear any makeup that day because I didn’t want to rewash my face of makeup residue when I got back home. The esthetician cleansed my skin anyway which I appreciated because it should be routine in any skincare and facial. She applied the Shangpree S-Energy Facial mousse cleanser then after that they asked me what my skincare concern was and I told them I had dry skin. She later came back and applied a hydrating-soothing gel pack. During the gel pack they cleaned and massaged my foot and then put on leg air compressors. I know some people don’t like it, but I actually don’t mind. It’s better than nothing.

After a little while they cleaned off the gel pack and then she started the face and neck massage. This part was the best! She used the Intensive Hydro Cream all over. She also did a light scalp and shoulder massage because I told her I get frequent headaches. After the massage, they did the signature Shangpree gold modeling mask. They added a skin youth regenerating ampoule. They will cater the type of ampoule to your skin type. They have two other types, whitening and for acne/blemishes. The esthetician was telling me how their modeling masks don’t dry up like other types in the market. Afterwards, I thought it was the end, but she did a second modeling mask! Their newest Black Premium modeling mask. The difference between the black and the gold is that it balances oil and purifies the skin. It was just as fabulous as the gold one. Afterwards she finished my skin off with the S-energy skincare line and the SOS Balancing Gel Cream.

My esthetician was really awesome, I didn’t have any discomfort at all during the entire treatment. They did say she had won a lot of awards for her mad spa skillz. All of the estheticians must go through lots of different exams. They seem to source the best of the best at the spa.

Overall and My Thoughts

The spa treatment was VERY nice. I loved my experience there. My skin felt amazing and radiant and even the days following my skin was GLOWING. I can say with full confidence that their products are really high quality. The service at the spa was also great. After I got done, they let me take my time to change and didn’t rush me out. They offered me some tea and to gather myself from my post-spa daze. My esthetician was really great at explaining all of the products used on my face and answered all of my questions. At times though they left me alone in the room too long and didn’t tell me when they would be back. I think she said a time once. I didn’t mind it that much, but still it would be nice to let the client know when she is coming back. Other than that I had such a wonderful, relaxing time. I would highly recommend visiting if you’re in Seoul.

The cost for the S-Power treatment is 230,000. They don’t have the price written anywhere, so you do have to ask. There are more affordable treatments, so if this is a bit steep you can always call or email them. Anyway, I think it’s a super nice way to treat yourself. You won’t regret it! I want to go back again because it was that good!

If you want more information about Shangpree products or spa treatments then click here for more info. Just another little thing, they don’t do walk ins, you must make an appointment.

I hope that you enjoyed reading my review/experience and found this post helpful in considering how to spend your time and money when in Korea! Talk to you later in my next post.

Eunogo – Hydrogen Toning Experience

Hi guys!

This is post is going to be about a skin treatment that I got through Eunogo about 2 weeks ago. I won a giveaway at the Seoul Blogger Brunch 2017, so I got another opportunity to partner with Eunogo. Eunogo is an award-winning Korean medical care concierge service and you can easily ‘shop’ for services on the website. They have very strict regulations with clinics and doctors they work with, so you can be assured that you’ll get the best service and outcome possible. They also have translators available so you won’t be in any confusion when you see the doctors and nurses.  Last time I got the Aqua Shine Injection and I was prepared for another intense skin treatment, but I was suggested a trendy skincare treatment called hydrogen toning.

What is hydrogen toning?

Hydrogen toning is an non-invasive toning skin care treatment that will give you more radiant, toned skin and youthful look, treating your fine wrinkles. So, if most of you paid attention in science class you know that hydrogen is essentially water. You might also wonder then how ‘hydrogen’ can make your skin more radiant and treat wrinkles. There has been research concerning that water pumped with extra hydrogen has the ability to reduce free radicals that damage living cells and tissues. Like most things in life it is debatable. In any case this hydrogen toning facial pumps this miracle water into the skin thus improving the look and texture of the skin. Keep reading if you want to know my experience.

Clinic and Service

The hydrogen treatment was done at a clinic in Gangnam called Urban Beauty. It is in one of the nicest building I’ve been in, it was very modern, artsy, and high-tech. The inside of the clinic was amazing! It had these pretty lights and modern furniture, and an outside terrace. As soon as I got there I was greeted by my coordinator and she helped me with signing in. I waited not too long and then I was escorted to the skincare offices on the other side of floor. Two aestheticians  were there and greeted me and gave me a robe to put on. The room was actually quite smaller than I expected but it had a cozy feeling and the the aestheticians made me feel very welcome and comfortable.

Cleansing & The Procedure

So, I had a lot of makeup on that day, as usual, and it took a while to get my mascara off and stuff. I should have gone with no makeup on actually, but anyway they got most of it off. The aesthetician explained a bit about the hydrogen pumping machine called, Hydro Impact, before and during the procedure. She put some hydrating cream on my face for that it would be easier to glide the pump over my skin. The machine starts with a full cylindrical tank of hydrogen toning water and it is pumped to a pen nozzle that directly touches the skin. The hydrogen goes in deeply up to 1.2PPM. You can feel the pulsing of the water on your skin and sometimes it can drip out of the pen on weird angles of your face, but it’s just water so no biggie. Also, it doesn’t hurt at all. When it was done you can see the used water in a separate tank. It was a little gross seeing the murky water next to the clear hydrogen water tank.

Next it was time for the rubber mask! After she had put that on she put a dome cover over my face with red light. The Hydrocare machine pumps out 2 parts H2 (Hydrogen gas) and 1 part oxygen and the inhalation helps fight free radicals in the body and skin. It’s a clear dome so you won’t feel too claustrophobic.

After Treatment

After the treatment I felt refreshed and my skin looked brightened, but it only looked that way because she put a tone up whitening cream on after. At first I didn’t really notice anything different. I think I still had makeup residue on my face and I also had to go to another meeting afterwards so I didn’t have time right after to observe. After getting home and washing up. I did notice that my skin did look brighter. The next few days I could really tell a difference. The eczema patches on my forehead and neck seemed to be calmed down and just the overall appearance of my skin looked more radiant and even. The effects of the hydrogen toning is only for a few days in my opinion. The aesthetician did say that it is a series of treatments to see really big noticeable changes.

Final Thoughts and Costs

Eunogo did a great job of communicating and guiding me along the way as usual! I enjoyed the hydrogen skincare treatment. It was an interesting concept and I would like to try a few more sessions to see the full effect. Eunogo shop offers this procedure at $300, which is a 25% discounted and exclusive deal. You can find out more about the hydrogen toning by clicking here and other procedures at the Eunogo Shop. If you have the Kakao Talk app you can directly ask questions to them at their ID ‘eunogo’.

The Seoul Blogger Brunch 2017 – Official Oh My Gloss Blog Recap

Hey friends!

I just want to share about an amazing blogger meet up that I attended in August. The official name of the event is the Seoul Blogger Brunch. Maybe you read my short recap on Instagram and the saw some photos from the event on my other social media account. I had such a wonderful time and I will tell you everything that happened!

Who, When, Where

The Seoul Blogger Brunch was hosted by blogger Star Lengas from and also co-hosted by Dot Moore ( and Mina Pierre ( It was on a hot hazy day on August 19th at a cozy restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul called Hearth. The interior was a European bistro style complete with a shelves of imported wine and lovely dried roses hanging from the ceiling. The warm lighting makes it a perfect place for a intimate gathering or a night cap. Also, the owner was very accommodating and served the hungry and thirsty bloggers without complaint! I would totally take my friends there for a wine night out.

Purpose & My Expectations

So, why have this Seoul Blogger Brunch? The purpose of the brunch was to network and link K-beauty brands to global influencers and bloggers. My first expectation when I got invited was something really low key and small where we would chit chat about K-beauty. However, that was not the case! It seriously blew my expectations out the window and it was a full on blogger/brand event. AWESOME! I would have loved an intimate gathering, but this was something else. I arrived a little early and I could see Star, Mina, and Dot lugging gift bags into the restaurant. My eyes were full from just witnessing the stacks of goodie bags. This event was LEGIT!

Soon after other bloggers arrived, some of whom I already knew and had befriended online. It was so wonderful to finally meet some of them in person! Insta messaging and comments can do so much and very limiting. Being able to talk to them in person was a million times better. The number of Seoul bloggers that attended were quite many so I had to get out of my introvert shell and make friends! To be honest though, it was very easy for me talk to people because they were so friendly and chill. I was so happy I was able to meet different types of bloggers, not just in beauty. There were travel, fashion, and lifestyle blogger/vloggers. They definitely were inspiring me to step out of my beauty comfort zone and try lifestyle and travel blogging in the future. Networking with fellow bloggers was the best part of the Seoul Blogger Brunch for me. It really gave me insight into these amazing boss women and how well they were capturing and living life to the fullest in a foreign country!

It would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the brands. The generous sponsors of the event were Troiareuke, Seoul Cosmetic Surgery, and Be Mused Korea. Other brands that came were Tiam and Eunogo. Each of them gave a short introduction and I was great to learn more about their brand, product, and services. They organized gift bags for the bloggers and they were so kind to try so many of their products. There were also giveaways too, which was very entertaining to a part of. Other brands that contributed in the goodie bags were Cosrx, HYGGEE, Wish Formula, Wishtrend, Banobagi Hospital and Grace Plastic Surgery, featured clinics from Seoul Cosmetic Surgery. I will be testing out and reviewing these gifts soon! I can’t wait to share my thoughts about them to you guys.

Last Thoughts

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT SEOUL BLOGGER BRUNCH! I really hope that it will be an annual thing. I love meeting new bloggers and It’s such a great way to build and strengthen a community of strong independent women, wherever they’re from. Also, it was a great way to connect with brands personally.

Kiss NY Air, Magic, and Wave – BOOM Goddess Hair!

Guess what?

Good hair days are ahead.

I am going to be reviewing three Kiss New York hair tools. The Insta Air, Insta Wave, and Insta Magic. Most people know that Kiss is makes a whole bunch of beauty products. They have reputation for making some pretty decent stuff at a drugstore price, so I will get right in to the review.

InstaAir 360

The highlight of this hair dryer is the heat distribution air booster. What is is an rotating attachment? This helps distribute the heat evenly and prevents the risk of heat spot damage. Also the rotating nozzle keeps you from shaking the hair dryer around. The slats where the air comes out is coated with ceramic tourmaline which emit non-damaging infrared heat and negative ions, making the heat much gentler on the hair during styling for a shinier and less frizzy finish. It also enables the hair to endure much higher levels of heat without creating damage. The wattage is 1600 so it’s a good hair dyer to use at home. Other specs include adjustable cold/ high/low settings.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So, does it work? I used to own a really crappy hair dryer so this was a huge upgrade. The air booster does work, but don’t expect a lot. It does blow air around nicely and I don’t have to shake it around as much as I did. My hair did seem to get an even amount of heat. They give you a second heat concentrate attachment as well. As for the frizziness, I couldn’t really tell because my hair is already frizzy from color/bleach damage, however the top part of my hair felt smoothed out. Two cons are that it is loud and a bit on the heavy side with the tornado 360 attachment. I think for the price, 29,000KRW, this a more than decent hair dryer. I really enjoy using it and does what it claims to do.

The special thing about the Insta Magic is that has a thin strip of silicone on the heat plates. The silicone is to cushion the hair from direct contact with the heated plates and smoothes out the cuticles. Well, not sure how my hair won’t touch the heating plates… but I think the idea is that my hair won’t be smooshed between two extremely hot plates, therefore less hair damage.

Other specs include high heat up to 230 degree Celsius, controlled and stable het control. ceramic coated plates, floating plates that wont leave edge marks, and auto shut off after 60 mins. The LED turns green when ready, only takes 30 secs to reach maximum temp.

Straightened with InstaMagic vs. blow dried with InstaAir 360

I have used so many straighteners in my life. I can’t complain. It has all the necessary functions and more. It doesn’t fry my hair and static-less. It straightens my hair like magic! I do wish it was a little bit longer so that I could grab more hair with it. Other than that, this is a fine hair tool. This one is a bit pricy for 59,000KRW.

This was the most exciting for me because I have never owned a automatic hair curler! I’ve always wanted to get the Babyliss Curl Secret that sucks in your hair and curls it, but it was too expensive. The InstaWave is has the same idea where the curl dial rotates either to the left or right, depending on the direction you want your curl to go. You can also choose the type of curl you want. For loose curls heat for 3-5 seconds, medium curls release at the beep, and for spirals release the hair 3-5 seconds after the beep. To release all you do is pull down the wand. Just as the InstaMagic it the want is coated with ceramic, high temperature of 230 degress Celsius, auto shut off after 60 mins.

If you get this READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Dangly earrings and necklaces are a no no. Also, you should do this with dry and brushed hair. If you don’t brush it there is a chance that it can get tangled. They give you a volume brush attachment for short hair. I tried it on a small section of my long hair and I’ll just say use it only if you have short hair because my hair almost got tangled in the combs.

There is a learning curve with this one. You need to get use to it. Once I did I was able to curl my hair really quickly. The curls came out nicely but for me it was hard to get an even head of the same style of curls. I don’t think it was because of the curler itself, but me not being used to using this kind of curler. It was fun and I was a little nervous. However, after doing a couple curls it became easier. I wish that they would have placed the heat dial not so close to the button because I kept moving the dial accidentally.

I think for those who aren’t so great at using a regular curler this might be a better way to get nice curls. But for those who know who to curl and style their hair a little bit restricted, even though you can choose the direction and tightness of the curl. It might be better to use a regular curler. I do like how quickly and easily it create curls. I would totally recommend this to the curler challenged people out there. This one costs 53,000KRW.

These products were sent to me by K-Beauty Expo as their beauty editor. All of my opinions are my own.

EUNOGO – My Aqua Shine Injection Experience

This is going to be an interesting post because it’s not a product review. Well actually in some ways it is, it is a service/procedure review. I was able to this treatment through sponsorship from Eunogo, an award-winning Korean medical care concierge service. On their website I was able to browse though the facials, treatments, and surgeries that were offered in Korea and literally ‘shop’ for a procedure. It is really fun and interesting to see what Korean clinics offer.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Before Procedure

When I first contacted Eunogo, they were very friendly and approachable. I was interested in the Aqua Shine procedure, so we set up an appointment! At the Eunogo meeting, we went over some of my expectations of their service and the procedure. They also have 1:1 multi-lingual medical coordinators fluent in Korean, English, Mandarin, and Bahasa so that there are no misunderstandings when you go in for your treatments. Even though I can speak and understand Korean I wanted a Korean translator for the medical lingo.

What is Aqua Shine?

Aqua shine is a minimally invasive procedure that includes needles that inject hyaluronic acid into the skin. Hyaluronic acid injections takes away dryness by forming a moisture layer around your skin. This is known as a must-treatment to be received before female celebrities shoot a cosmetic commercial. This treatment supplements skin nutrition that we start to lack from aging by directly injecting hyaluronic acid and additional ingredients.Based on individual skin conditions, it can be used with other treatments like Botox, collagen and platelet rich plasma (PRP). The PRP is harvested from the patient’s blood. I didn’t use my own blood for my procedure.

This is one time treatment usually takes up to an hour and you will get a bit of jelly bumps or embossing as they called it, and some light needle bruising for 3-4 days. After 3 days, the results are supposed to be super moisturized and glowing skin. The effect usually lasts for about a month. It has to be up kept regularly which is a bit of a bummer.

Procedure Day

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

My treatment was at a skin clinic in ritzy Apgujeong Rodeo, Cheongdam-dong. The clinic that I went to is a private high end place called MH Clinic, many celebs come here to get procedures done. When you go in it’s very clean and the Eungo team was already there to help me with fill out forms and help translate anything that I missed or misunderstood when we went to talk with one of the MH clinic consultants. They gave me all of the information needed and then I went to a little room got my face cleaned from the aesthetician and was slathered with numbing cream. I had to wait a while because it was a Friday and they were backed up with some other clients.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Finally, it was my turn. My doctor, Dr. Lee SoHyun, was very bubbly. I was going to get stabbed in the face 30-40 times with a micro needle, but she made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Lee and the nurses worked together quickly with an ice pack to keep my face soothed and also to numb the pain from the needle. At the MH clinic they mix the hyaluronic acid with an antioxidant and a skin regenerating ingredient. Dr. Lee injected all over my face, in my dark circles, and she also injected on my neck where I have eczema. This showed that she really cared about her patient’s skin because she was actually assessing my skin condition. So I was really appreciative of that. The actual injecting part only takes 10 mins, but mine felt like less than 10. It was so fast, but…

it was painful!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have a high pain tolerance, but still, even with the numbing cream the injections hurt. Especially near the cheekbones and forehead. Thank God Claire, from Eunogo saw my pain and then she held my hand during the procedure. THANK YOU! Afterwards my face looked like I got stung by bees and my face felt like it was on fire. The swelling was a bit bad so they did a cyro (cooling) massage to help the swelling go down and disperse the jelly drops. I also got an allergy shot in my butt (I requested the butt shot) to reduce the swelling. Then I got to relax with a cooling rubber mask. They finished me off with a basic skincare and by that time the pain and burning sensation was gone. TBH minus the swelling it looked pretty good. I brought a face mask to cover my face and I went home! I was there for about a little less than 3 hours… but usually the whole thing should take about 90 mins.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Next Day

My face was still a bit swollen, but the texture of the skin looked great. I was very careful with the skincare products I used afterwards since there were some bruising, my skin was poked with a sharp object. I stayed home all day and relaxed and watched a bunch of Netflix.

2-3 Days later

The swelling had gone down completely slight bumpy texture but I was able to put on makeup without a problem. I still had to use concealer to hide some bruises. The bruises lasted about 4 days. My skin looked AWESOME. My makeup went on so smoothly and my face looked voluminous and super glowy. Even when I went to work, my coworkers noticed how extra glowy my skin was.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

1 Week Later to Present

I love how my skin looks and feels. It’s very moisturized, glowy, plump, and smooth. I want to show off my skin and wear less makeup! It looks great. Putting on makeup is a breeze and I feel like my skincare absorbs better. I was definitely worth the pain. The procedure I do wish that it would last longer. I don’t feel that the effects have diminished after a week, but knowing that it will only last about a month makes me a bit sad! My skin looks so good, don’t want it to go away!

Day 7 no makeup (also woke up 15 mins ago, but washed face for work lol)
Day 8 with light CC cream

Final Thoughts and Costs

I really love the effects of the the Aqua Shine treatment from MH Clinic and Eunogo did a great job of communicating and guiding me along the way. I would without a doubt recommend this service and procedure to you! Just keep in mind though that the effects aren’t very long lasting and can be pricey. I think this is great before a special event or occasion. I think mid 20s to late 30s skin would benefit from this procedure. Eunogo shop offers this procedure at $330, which is a 25% discounted and exclusive deal. You can find out more about aqua shine injection by clicking here and other procedures at the Eunogo Shop. If you have the Kakao Talk app you can directly ask questions to them at their ID ‘eunogo’.

The Essence of Nature – Foot Patch Review

Hi guys! I am here with a special review for you today. It not really beauty related but it’s more of a well-being and health product. I received these foot patches from K-Beauty EXPO, which I am working as one of their K-beauty editors. I was a little surprised when I got them because it’s not something that I expected as a K-beauty product. Anyway, I’m still glad that I got them because I know that I would never buy this on my own.

There are six different types of foot patches: Rose, lavender, forest, warm, eucalyptus, and bamboo. Yes, I tried all of them! These patches are made to help relax, refresh and re-energize your body. Kind of like aromatherapy for your foot. It didn’t say detox anywhere on the box, I’m guessing because I’ve researched that there were some false claims about how some foot patches brands can draw out toxins. Anyway, these patches recommend that you use it after playing sports or hiking, standing for long periods of time, or after wearing heels. It says that it helps relieve tension in your foot.

Each box comes with 10 patches/5 pairs. The sachets are packed individually, probably to prevent the smell from fading. You have to attach these sachets to the sticker provided in the center and then you stick them on your foot. Easy! They say that it’s best if you put this on before you sleep. The next morning you peel it off and you can witness the shockingly brown goo that is saturated the sachet pad. It’s pretty gross looking, to be honest, and it would be nice to think that the brown discoloration was caused by the toxins that it drew out, but that’s not quite the case. I think it’s just the sweat that moistens the powder and it turns it that color. You should also wash or wipe after you’ve taken it off. We got the technical stuff out of the way now here’s what I think. Did I feel any different? I really didn’t feel any different. Maybe I slept better, but it could be a placebo effect. I did like the aroma on some of the patches. I don’t think I would purchase them for myself, but if you have trouble sleeping or you are very active and have to stand up for long periods of time, I would suggest that you try it at least. You can visit their website for further info.

Rose patch – I loved the rose smell! It’s so relaxing to me.

This one has rose oil, wood vinegar, agaricus (mushroom species), eucalyptus oil, mugwort extract, and vitamin C.

Eucalyptus patch – I also loved the refreshing smell. It is said that it improves concentration! Good for pre-exam or meeting days.

This one has eucalyptus oil, wood vinegar, agaricus, tourmaline*, chitosan, and vitamin C.

*Natural ore from Brazil. It is effective in generating the minus-ion and improving the blood circulation of the body by the far-infrared ray effect. (Taken from brand website)

Lavender patch – Also smells wonderful! Lavender helps relieve tension and aids sleep.

This one has lavender oil, wood vinegar, agaricus (mushroom species), eucalyptus oil, mugwort extract, and vitamin C.

Warm patch – This one to me smells like a heater… in a good way! Like a woody warm scent. Also this one heats up a little. After I took it off it felt weird because it felt warm but my foot was cool to the touch. Great for winter.

This one has agaricus (mushroom species), tourmaline, chitosan, eucalyptus oil, loquat extract, and vitamin C.

Forest patch – This one has the same smell as the warm patch. Meh and I think the most basic out of the six.

This one has wood vinegar, chitosan, pure silica, mugwort extract, and herb powder.

Bamboo patch – this one has the same smell too… also the same ingredients list… hm.

This one has wood vinegar, chitosan, pure silica, mugwort extract, and herb powder.

Would you guys ever try this? If you have already tried it, did you feel any different? I’m so curious to know what you guys think!

50 Shades of Beige- Korea’s Problem With Base Makeup

Hey guys! I’m back from my week break and successfully finished my giveaway on Instagram. During the break I did a lot of things and one of them was organizing my makeup. When it came to my foundation drawer I decided to swatch all my Korean foundations and compare how similar the ’23’ shades would be. Lo and behold, they’re all different colors! I did a blog post some time ago about how it’s impossible to find a shade dark enough for me, and today I’m here to elaborate some more about this issue.

So if you already know the Korean beauty scene, for BB creams and foundations you only get 2 choices, 21 or 23. Some brands have one or two more shades but nothing drastic, just a shade lighter or a different toned version. The problem with this is that although it makes buying a foundation much “easier”, you’re limited to just 2 or maybe 3 shades. Another problem is that these two numbers are just generalized shades to fit the 2 shade numbering. All 21 shades aren’t the same and neither are all 23 shades. As I swatched all of my 23 color BB creams, cushions, and foundations I was a little bit shocked to see how each brand’s idea of what 23 shade was. Some looked like 21s in other lines and other seems like they needed a new number.

Yes I understand that this happens across all makeup brands. Beige isn’t always the same beige, but the problem I have is that while most other overseas brands offer a multitude of different colors to choose from, Korean cosmetic lines only offer a very limited range and it’s just expected by the brand that the consumer will and can be compartmentalized into either the 21 category or the 23 category. When I look at the product descriptions of the Korean foundations or BB cushions it always recommends the shades as a standard. How can they call it a standard when all of the different brands have different standards? It’s ridiculous to be able to recommend something that is based on generalizations. Also, It leaves no room to explore other brands once you’ve found a shade close enough to your skin tone, or even if you do you don’t have much of a choice other than to give into either of the two categories offered as “standard”.

This is why I see SO MANY Korean women with the “eagle” look, where their faces are whiter than their neck or have the skin tones that are too pink or too yellow. I think Korea is top notch when it comes to skincare, but base makeup is always disappointing to me. So as much as I might love the packing of a BB cushion I am so torn and sometimes just pissed that there isn’t a shade right for me. I really think that Korean cosmetics companies, especially the big ones, need to step in to offering more shades, tones, and break away from the 21-23 norm. I don’t think this will happen any time soon, but until that day I have my bronzer and contouring to make do with this sitch.

Bedside Beauty

Hey guys!

In today’s post I’m going to share some things every beauty conscious person should have close at hand on their bedside stand. These are some of the items I have next to me before I sleep and after I wake up.

Sleeping pack

It’s my skin’s best friend during the bone crushingly dry cold winter in Seoul. Sleeping packs will help restore the moisture in your skin as you sleep. The morning after my skin feels extra soft and when I go to do my morning skincare routine my skin feels extra supple and my makeup goes on so nicely. I’m currently using the BRTC Vitalizer Whitening Sleeping Pack. I did a review on this last year. In the past I used the Laneige White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack. The great thing about the capsules is that you can take it with you when you travel because it’s so little. Just before you go to bed take a generous amount and massage it on your face and neck then it’s lights off!

Lavender oil

Quality sleep is a must to maintain healthy look and feeling skin but overall a healthy mind and body. So after a long day before going to bed I dab a little bit lavender oil on my temples and wrists and breathe in the heavenly scent of lavender and get help me relax before I start snoring. I also have lavender massage oil so I’ll rub it on the back of neck and shoulders. sometimes I carry my little bottle lavender in my bag and when I feel stressed out I do the same thing that I do before going to sleep. I know that some people don’t like the scent of lavender but there are other essential oils that can help you calm and relaxed such as roman camomile, sandalwood, ylang yang, or vetiver.

Hand and nail cream

I don’t think I use hand cream as much as should and I think is because I wash my hands often and also I don’t really like the filmy feeling that some hand creams have. So at night I like to slather on some hand cream and wake up with soft hands. I love the L’Occitane Shea butter hand cream because it has a non greasy feel and it smell so nice! I like to rub it into my cuticles too.

Lip balm

Especially in winter I end up breathing though my mouth because my nose is stuffed and it dries the crap out of my lips. So for protection I put a heaps load of lip balm not just on my lips but around the lip too. I am currently using Eucerin Acute Lip Balm. But I also recommend the Vichy Aqualia Thermal lip balm and the Kissful Lip Care from Etude House.

Glass of water and vitamins

Sleeping for 6-8+ hours is going to dehydrate you, so when as soon as I wake up I have a glass of water plus vitamins handy to start the day.

What is on your bedside table? Let me know in the comment section below! I’ll talk to you guys in my next post! Follow me on Instagram @ohmyglossblog, Facebook, and YouTube.
