I’m going to be reviewing Benefit’s Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer in this post. If you want to know more about this BB cream for eyes then keep reading!
This product has been on the market for a few months now and it is a new product from Benefit. When I first purchased it I didn’t have high hopes or expectation for it, I just bought it on a whim. Bad Sarah! Anyway, this eye BB cream is supposed to lock on shadow, protect, hydrate, and color correct the eye area. It contains 20SPF and this EnviroDefend Complex that helps guard against smoke and pollutants. I really don’t know what that means. It would be nice if they explained a little more how the complex works or how the eyelids are affected by smoke… eyeballs sure, but eyelids? Hm.. I think its a little gimmicky.
Moving on, the packaging is very cute like all Benefit products. It has this CushionCalm tip that feels like a warmed gummy bear. It’s fun to touch hehe. Also, this has a click dispenser that says, one click per eye. However this click type pen has failed several times to get product out. I think the tiny tube gets clogged by the dried liquid. If you’ve used eye primers before you know it can get a bit sticky. I feel like for a product that costs 29.00USD/40,000KRW there should never be a problem getting the product out. So that was a bummer.Once you do manage to get some of the liquid out the actual product is easy to work with. It glides on smoothly, you can use the back side of the CushionCalm tip to spread it out on your lids but I like to use my finger. It’s faster and easier for me. The color is a light yellow so it’ll help color correct any darkness around the eyes. But mind that it’s not like a concealer, Air Patrol is much thinner and transparent. After the product dries it has a slight sticky feeling which is great for holding eye shadow in place. What I have found to be useful is that I prime the eyelids and under the eye with this before I put on concealer and the concealer lasts and stays in place for a good 12 hours without mad creasing.
Overall, I am not a huge fan of this product. I wish it was in a tube with a wand because this click thing is driving me nuts. Like I said before, for the cost there shouldn’t be any trouble getting the product out. I probably won’t repurchase this and I don’t want to recommend it because I know there are better and user friendly eye primers out there. I fell for the cute packaging and cool makeup tech words like ‘CushionCalm’ tip and “EnviroDefend complex’. I wonder if any of you felt this way, I would like to hear your thoughts!
