In today’s post I’m going to share some things every beauty conscious person should have close at hand on their bedside stand. These are some of the items I have next to me before I sleep and after I wake up.
It’s my skin’s best friend during the bone crushingly dry cold winter in Seoul. Sleeping packs will help restore the moisture in your skin as you sleep. The morning after my skin feels extra soft and when I go to do my morning skincare routine my skin feels extra supple and my makeup goes on so nicely. I’m currently using the BRTC Vitalizer Whitening Sleeping Pack. I did a review on this last year. In the past I used the Laneige White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack. The great thing about the capsules is that you can take it with you when you travel because it’s so little. Just before you go to bed take a generous amount and massage it on your face and neck then it’s lights off!
Quality sleep is a must to maintain healthy look and feeling skin but overall a healthy mind and body. So after a long day before going to bed I dab a little bit lavender oil on my temples and wrists and breathe in the heavenly scent of lavender and get help me relax before I start snoring. I also have lavender massage oil so I’ll rub it on the back of neck and shoulders. sometimes I carry my little bottle lavender in my bag and when I feel stressed out I do the same thing that I do before going to sleep. I know that some people don’t like the scent of lavender but there are other essential oils that can help you calm and relaxed such as roman camomile, sandalwood, ylang yang, or vetiver.
Hand and nail cream
I don’t think I use hand cream as much as should and I think is because I wash my hands often and also I don’t really like the filmy feeling that some hand creams have. So at night I like to slather on some hand cream and wake up with soft hands. I love the L’Occitane Shea butter hand cream because it has a non greasy feel and it smell so nice! I like to rub it into my cuticles too.
Especially in winter I end up breathing though my mouth because my nose is stuffed and it dries the crap out of my lips. So for protection I put a heaps load of lip balm not just on my lips but around the lip too. I am currently using Eucerin Acute Lip Balm. But I also recommend the Vichy Aqualia Thermal lip balm and the Kissful Lip Care from Etude House.
Glass of water and vitamins
Sleeping for 6-8+ hours is going to dehydrate you, so when as soon as I wake up I have a glass of water plus vitamins handy to start the day.
