I am writing today about the Tony Moly BCDation plus. So in Korea BB and CC creams are very popular. Tony Moly has created a combination of the lightweight feel of a BB cream, the moisturising effects of a CC cream, and the high coverage of a foundation into one product. I tested out their sample a long time ago and I was looking back in my Instagram photos and on the day I used the sample my skin looked pretty good and I recommended to check it out. So a million years later I bought the full size version. They also came out with a cushion version of it aka the #selfiecushion. It’s the same product but different packaging and method of application.
I’ve been using it for a couple days now and I am pretty impressed with it. I always have a ‘meh’ feeling when it comes to Korean foundations, one because of the limit shades and two because I’ve never impressed with the foundations I’ve tried. So as with this one I was a little hesitant at first, but it was under 20,000KRW so I ended up purchasing it. the shade I got was 03 Warm Beige. It matches my skin nicely, maybe a tad lighter. The packaging is simple black pump bottle with a slit window to see how much product you have left. At first, I had to pump it a lot and then it comes out a bit sporadically, but after that it’s fine.
The formula is 45% serum, has 4 types of energy seed capsules which are pomegranate seed, ginseng, moringa, and green tea. Also it has a college booster that helps with keeping skin moist and plump. It also says it has the ‘spider fitting network’ where the oils, pigment, nutrients, and moisturising ingredients are spread out evenly to ‘fit’ on to the skin giving an even complexion. It is formulated to help with whitening, wrinkles, and UV protection up 30SPF PA++.
The texture is very creamy and when I rub my fingers together it has a soft moisturised feeling, not greasy or matte. It feels the same on my face as well and has a semi matte finish, so it looks very natural. It really looks like my skin even when I’m looking really close. It adheres to my skin really well, I don’t have to blend so much. I can spread it with my fingers or a foundation brush easily. The coverage I would say is medium to full. You can build it two the coverage you want, I suggest doing that in layers. However, for me one layer was sufficient in covering up brown spots on my face. It also doesn’t feel heavy or uncomfortable on the skin. I wore pretty well all day, didn’t see any darkening or patchiness.
Overall I give this a two thumbs up. I think it will suit any skin type and the price is very reasonable for what it does. It was a good 18,800KRW well spent.
What do you use on a regular basis? BB cream, CC cream, or foundation?
